Where supported, NUNU Radio uses privacy-enhanced embedding methods and other privacy controls to reduce the amount of information shared before you choose to interact with embedded content. However, once you choose to play or otherwise interact with embedded content, the applicable third-party provider may establish a direct connection with your device and process information in accordance with its own privacy practices.

Examples of third-party providers may include YouTube, Google Maps, podcast hosting platforms, live-streaming providers, and social media platforms. The specific services available through our Services may change over time as we update and enhance our website.

9. Analytics

NUNU Radio uses WP Statistics to better understand how visitors use our Services, improve website performance, enhance accessibility, evaluate programming, and improve the overall user experience.

WP Statistics stores analytics data locally on our own servers and does not transmit analytics information to third-party analytics providers.

Analytics records are retained in accordance with our Data Retention practices described below.

Logged-In Members Analytics

Public visitor activity may still be measured in an anonymized or privacy-protective manner to help us understand website traffic, popular pages, referral sources, device types, and general website usage.

Security-related tools may separately process logged-in user activity, IP addresses, login attempts, timestamps, requested URLs, and technical information for website protection, fraud prevention, spam prevention, and security monitoring.

10. NUNU Food Facts Scanner Mobile Application

Camera, Barcode, and PLU Recognition

NUNU Food Facts Scanner requests permission to access the device camera so it can recognize packaged-food barcodes, printed produce PLU numbers, and text appearing on product labels.

Camera frames are analyzed on the device using Apple-provided frameworks. NUNU Radio Media LLC does not save or upload photographs or video captured through the scanner unless the user separately chooses to share information through an Apple-provided sharing feature.

Users may enter a barcode, PLU number, product name, or product information manually without using the camera.

Label Photograph Recognition

NUNU Food Facts Scanner allows users to photograph a product label or select an existing label image from the device photo library.

Text recognition is performed on the device using Apple-provided frameworks. The application may use recognized text to help identify product names, brands, ingredients, serving information, and other product details.

Label photographs selected or captured through this feature are processed in memory and are not retained or uploaded by NUNU Food Facts Scanner. An existing photograph selected from the device photo library remains subject to Apple-controlled device storage, photo-library, backup, and deletion settings.

Users may review and edit recognized package-label text. The application stores that text locally only when the user chooses to save a Package Verification record. Users may remove a saved Package Verification record from within the application.

Package Verification and Product Evidence Reports

Users may associate recognized package-label text with a product record to help compare information printed on the physical package with information obtained from a connected food database.

Package-verification text is stored locally on the user’s device and is not automatically transmitted to NUNU Radio Media LLC. The application may display the presence of saved package evidence and provide source, retrieval-date, and confidence context. These descriptions are informational and do not establish that a database record or recognized text is complete or correct.

Users may create a Product Evidence Report containing information such as a product name, barcode or other product code, database source, retrieval date, report date, recognized package-label text, and an informational notice. Reports are created locally and are not automatically transmitted to NUNU Radio Media LLC. The user chooses whether and where to save or share a report through Apple-provided sharing features.

Packaged-Food Barcode Lookups

NUNU Food Facts Scanner allows users to select how a valid packaged-food barcode is searched. Depending on the selected mode, the application may request information from Open Food Facts, request information from USDA FoodData Central through a NUNU Radio Media LLC gateway, check Open Food Facts before using the USDA fallback, or request results from both sources for comparison.

When Open Food Facts is used, the application transmits the barcode to Open Food Facts to request available product information.

When USDA FoodData Central is used, the application transmits the barcode in the body of an encrypted HTTPS POST request to a NUNU Radio Media LLC endpoint hosted at nunuradio.com. The barcode is not included in the NUNU endpoint URL.

The NUNU endpoint requests an exact GTIN match from USDA FoodData Central and returns available product, ingredient, serving-size, and nutrient information to the application.

These requests may include technical information ordinarily associated with an internet request, including an IP address, timestamp, requested URL, device or application information, and user-agent information.

Product-Name Searches

Users may search for packaged foods by entering a product name or related search terms.

Product-name searches are transmitted to Open Food Facts so that matching products can be returned. Search requests may include the entered search terms and technical information ordinarily associated with an internet request.

NUNU Radio Media LLC does not use product-name searches for advertising, cross-app tracking, or the creation of behavioral profiles.

NUNU Endpoint Caching and Rate Limiting

The NUNU endpoint temporarily caches successful USDA product responses for up to 12 hours and not-found responses for up to one hour.

Cache records are indexed only by barcode and are not associated with a NUNU Food Facts Scanner account, user identity, or advertising identifier. The application does not currently require or provide an app account.

To protect the USDA service from excessive use, the endpoint maintains short-lived hourly rate-limit counters. Per-client counters use a salted hash derived from the requesting network address rather than storing the raw address in the rate-limit record. Rate-limit records expire after approximately one hour.

Ordinary website hosting, firewall, and security systems may separately process and retain IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, device or browser information, and security events as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.

Produce PLU Information

The produce PLU catalog is bundled with the application. Searching that catalog does not require transmitting the PLU number to NUNU Radio Media LLC or an external food database.

Photographs or camera frames used to recognize printed PLU numbers are processed on the device using Apple-provided frameworks and are not automatically uploaded to NUNU Radio Media LLC.

Users may optionally search USDA FoodData Central for general produce-reference information. When this feature is used, the application transmits the produce name or search terms in the body of an encrypted HTTPS POST request to a NUNU Radio Media LLC endpoint, which requests possible reference records from USDA FoodData Central. A USDA produce result is a general reference selected by the user or application and is not an exact measurement of an individual produce item.

The produce-search request may include technical information ordinarily associated with an internet request. Successful produce-search responses, including responses containing no matching result, may be cached by the NUNU endpoint for up to 12 hours to reduce repeated USDA requests.

Users may also create manual produce records when a PLU code is unavailable or does not exist in the bundled catalog. Manual produce records remain stored locally on the device unless the user chooses to export or share them.

Manual Product Records

If a packaged product cannot be found in connected databases or does not have a barcode, users may create a manual product record.

Manual records may include information such as a product name, brand, ingredients, serving information, notes, or other information entered by the user. These records are stored locally on the device and are not automatically transmitted to NUNU Radio Media LLC.

Local History, Favorites, Settings, and Comparisons

NUNU Food Facts Scanner stores scan history, favorites, manual records, and application preferences locally on the user’s device.

Local preferences may include settings such as haptic feedback and whether viewed products are automatically saved to History.

Users may optionally create a private Ingredient Avoid List containing words or ingredients they want the application to flag. Avoid-list terms and matching are processed and stored locally on the device and are not synchronized with a NUNU account. A text match is informational only and does not guarantee that a product is safe, allergen-free, or suitable for a medical condition or diet.

Product comparisons are performed locally using product information available within the application.

The current version does not synchronize this information with a NUNU Radio account or use it for advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party advertising analytics.

Users may delete individual records or clear stored history from within the application. Removing the application also removes its locally stored information, subject to device-backup and restoration features controlled by Apple and the user.

History Export and User-Initiated Sharing

NUNU Food Facts Scanner allows users to export selected history information in a CSV file.

An exported file may contain:

Product names

Brands

Barcodes or PLU codes

Product-information sources

Favorite status

Dates associated with saved records

Export files are created locally and are not automatically transmitted to NUNU Radio Media LLC.

The user chooses whether and where to share an exported file through Apple-provided sharing features. Information shared with another application, service, person, or organization is subject to the privacy practices of the selected recipient or service.

Service Diagnostics

The application includes service-diagnostic features that allow users to check whether Open Food Facts and NUNU food-information services are reachable.

Diagnostic checks may send limited network requests to those services and may result in the processing of technical information ordinarily associated with an internet request, such as an IP address, timestamp, requested URL, application information, and response status.

Diagnostic checks do not transmit the user’s local scan history, favorites, manual product records, or exported history files.

Support Reports

Users may generate a support report to assist with troubleshooting.

A support report may contain:

Application version and build number

iOS version

General device type

Local saved-record count

Connected-service availability results

The date and time the report was generated

Support reports are created locally and are not automatically transmitted to NUNU Radio Media LLC.

The user must choose to share the report through an Apple-provided sharing feature. If the user sends the report to NUNU Radio Media LLC, the report will be processed for customer support, troubleshooting, security, and service-improvement purposes.

Optional GTIN Verification and Recall Gateways

The application includes optional settings for future authorized GTIN-verification and product-recall matching services. If a user enables one of these settings, the application may transmit the product’s valid GTIN in the encrypted body of an HTTPS POST request to the corresponding NUNU Radio Media LLC gateway. These requests may include technical information ordinarily associated with an internet request.

A GTIN response or possible recall match is informational and depends on the availability, licensing, coverage, and accuracy of the configured provider. The absence of a returned recall match is not a guarantee that a product is safe or unaffected. Users must review official notices and verify lot, date, facility, and package details. These gateways may remain unavailable until their authorized providers are configured.

Product Images

Product records obtained from Open Food Facts may include remotely hosted product images.

Displaying these images may cause the device to connect to an Open Food Facts image server or associated content-delivery service. That request may include technical information ordinarily associated with an internet connection, including an IP address, timestamp, requested image address, and device or application information.

Third-Party Food Information Services

Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central process requests according to their respective privacy notices and terms.

NUNU Radio Media LLC does not control the accuracy, completeness, availability, or privacy practices of third-party food-information services.

NUNU Radio Media LLC does not sell barcode lookups, product-name searches, manual records, history information, or support information, and does not use that information for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Advertising, Analytics, and Tracking

The current version of NUNU Food Facts Scanner does not contain advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party advertising analytics.

If these practices change, this Privacy Policy and the application’s App Store privacy disclosures will be updated as required.

Product-Information Notice

Food and nutrition database records may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect.

NUNU Food Facts Scanner provides general product and nutrition information only. It does not provide medical advice and does not replace physical package labeling or qualified medical, nutritional, or other professional advice.

11. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

NUNU Food Facts Scanner product-cache records are retained for up to 12 hours for successful lookups and up to one hour for not-found lookups. Rate-limit records expire after approximately one hour.

NUNU Food Facts Scanner history, favorites, manual product records, manual produce records, Package Verification text, Ingredient Avoid List terms, application settings, and related locally stored information remain on the user’s device until the user deletes or clears the applicable information, removes the application, or the information is affected by Apple-controlled backup and restoration features.

Label photographs captured or selected for Package Verification are processed in memory and are not retained by NUNU Food Facts Scanner. Existing photographs in the user’s photo library remain under the user’s and Apple’s storage, backup, and deletion controls.

CSV exports, Product Evidence Reports, and support reports remain wherever the user chooses to save or share them. These files are subject to the retention and deletion practices of the selected recipient, application, storage provider, or sharing service. NUNU Radio Media LLC does not automatically receive or retain these files.

Separate website hosting, firewall, security, and operational systems may retain technical records according to NUNU Radio’s applicable hosting, security, and operational retention settings.

Expired cache and rate-limit records may remain in protected backup snapshots until those backups rotate out under NUNU Radio’s backup-retention schedules. Backup copies are maintained for disaster recovery and security purposes, are not used for advertising or tracking, and are retained for up to approximately eight weeks.

13. Data Security

NUNU Radio employs reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Security Monitoring

NUNU Radio Media LLC uses security tools, including Wordfence, to help protect the website from unauthorized access, malware, spam, brute-force login attempts, suspicious activity, and other security threats. These tools may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested URLs, login attempts, timestamps, and security event logs for protection and monitoring purposes.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Removing the application also removes its locally stored information, subject to Apple-controlled device backups and restoration features.
