I want to take a moment to share a little bit about why I share these stories here at NUNURadio.com.
As a native New Yorker born and raised I’ve performed in theater, television & film professionally for more than 20 years and I have come to believe that performances in any medium tv, radio, theater, dance etc., are ways of telling stories that can educate and entertain audiences.
Remembering my Teaching Artist time in the New York City Public school system and my time as a volunteer storyteller with SAG Book Pals, it is clear to me that as storytelling has allowed me to keep a roomful of energetic young people attentive enough to infuse them with the education they needed; so too as a performing artist when I have information to share I can stand on a street corner in the busiest city in the world in the freezing cold or stifling heat and shout my lungs out and be completely ignored by everyone … and possibly get carried away in handcuffs … LOL!
